A simplistic bass line, an old school breakbeat loop combined with subtle drum programming, weird pitched vocals, bitter-sweet harmonies, progressive structure and an overall emotional vibe are skilfully layered with a distinctive touch of class. The result is so much more than the sum of its parts and is guaranteed to bring dancers’ arms up in the air and, why not, a smile to their face. True to Get The Curse’s credo, Red Counter defies traditional categories and provides a blue-print for forward thinking electronic dance music of the highest order.
On Jerry’s Coiffure, Olibusta carries on bending genres and combining opposites with skill and elegance. An understated groover with an undeniable trippy touch, it produces a floating feeling on the dancefloor. However, Jerry’s Coiffure won’t put anyone to sleep, not with those syncopated vocal hooks and snappy drum programming it won’t! No ass will be left unshaken, mark my words. Excelling both on jackin’ and trippy fronts, Jerry’s Coiffure is a weapon of choice both for lazy warm-ups sets and googly-eyed after hours sessions.
